Two Years of Unyielding Courage
Two years ago on February 24, 2022, Russia launched its full-scale assault on Ukraine. Putin's plan was to overrun Kyiv within the first 48 hours and US intelligence likewise assessed that the city could fall soon after the invasion.
In the face of this existential threat, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stood defiant and resolute. In a recorded video in Kyiv, he said: “We are all here. Our soldiers are here. The citizens are here, and we are here protecting our independence, our country, and it wil continue to be this way … Glory to Ukraine!”
When the United States extended an offer to evacuate him and his family, proposing a government in exile, Zelensky responded:
“The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride.”
Fast forward to February 23, 2024, on the eve of this somber anniversary, President Zelensky penned a message: “Two years. We are all here ..."
Yesterday, at the UN meeting in New York, Poland's Foreign Minister Radoslav Sikorski expressed astonishment at the audacity of Russia's UN ambassador. He then made several statements "correcting" his speech.
“Kyiv, he said, is not a client of the West. Kyiv is fighting for independence, and Ukraine has a democratically elected government and is not a criminal regime. It was Russia that tried to exterminate Ukraine, and it wasn't the first time. History shows that Russia was often the aggressor, not the victim.”

Slava Ukraini and to all those who fight for freedom and sovereignty.
